Pre-Sales Engineer

Overview

Responsible for working with the sales team to configure our SaaS web-based application demonstration system based on client requirements and specifications. Assist in all aspects of the sales process, including system demonstrations to prospects or clients, system design, specifications, and application configuration. Application configuration activities include developing data imports or exports, web-based user screens, forms,  reports, cost or benefit calculations, or processing programs. Interact with prospect or client contacts and other internal team members. This individual will be a self-starter with strong sales, client facing, technology, communication, analytical, and problem solving skills.

 Requirements include:

  • Bachelors degree in related field (Sales/Marketing, Computer Science, Finance, Human Resources, Economics, or Actuarial Science)
  • 3+ years of related work experience
  • HR or benefits consulting background
  • Experience gathering system requirements and performing application configuration
  • HR, benefits software or outsourcing pre-sales experience preferred
  • Experience in configuring technology, databases, or web-based software
  • Understanding of the opportunities and challenges of the benefits administration, health & welfare or pension industries experience a plus
  • Posses the ability to create solutions to business requirements
  • Willing to travel with minimal notice 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Prospect and Client Activities

  • Conducts system demonstrations to prospects and clients
  • Converts business requirements into design and specifications for development and configuration of health & welfare, defined benefits and billing management demonstration system
  • Participates in and contributes to sales strategy sessions
  • Participates in contributes to prospect or client needs analysis meetings
  • Documents and updates sales demonstration system
  • Owns, manages, and configures demonstration system based on prospect or client specifications

Internal Activities

  • Ensures timely submission of system enhancement requests and issues
  • Participates in and follows established best practices and standards
  • Participates in ongoing training of system enhancements and releases
  • Continually seeks opportunities for improving work processes and efficiency
